I will be on Jim Hilmar's Frettin Fingers Radio Show.. (90.3fm or streaming www.kser.org)
at 11am that day promoting our album "Last Call!" and talking about the show at the Tractor!
Next exciting news! Last year I recorded an EP with the Rainieros at Johnny 7's Cleopatra Studio.
It kind of fell out of focus as we worked to complete our new full length album 'Last Call!'
We sold it at a few shows, etc. Anyhow.. I wanted to make it available for the first time on our bandcamp page. Johnny 7 and I just went in and finished the mix last week. We wanted to give it a really vintage 50's Hillbilly Honky Tonk Tone to match the performances.
Johnny Mercury worked hard to match that feel for the Master.. and I think you'll agree that the final product turned out great. Should be up on the bandcamp page by August 21st.. and available at the upcoming shows!
One more exciting announcement!
We will be returning to the Little Red Hen on Thursday September 6th to share a bill with my favorite country artist, James Sasser! James will also be playing a show August 24th at Darrell's Tavern in Shoreline. I highly recommend catching him both times.. great singer and a fantastic country band!
I've started a monthly Blog to keep you informed of upcoming shows, recordings, and news for Liam Fitzgerald and The Rainieros. I only plan on updating this Blog once a month as to not overwhelm you with updates. Please let me know if this is too much for you and you'd like to not be included.
My hope is that I can give you a quick and easy way to find out if we're playing near you, when it is of interest to you and convienent for you.
First off let's start with some news....
We have a new fiddle player in the band. Her name is Nicole Fallat. She fit in right away, and has already expanded our sound. If you are interest in learning more about her she can be found on facebook. She has years of experience playing fiddle in the Seattle area. We're very happy to be able to play with her.
Our new album.. "Last Call!" continues to get rave reviews. I'm very proud of this recording. I hope you've had a chance to hear it. It has received regular spins in the Seattle area on: 90.3 fm KEXP 90.7 fm KSER 91.3 fm KBSC
In fact we've received enough support from these fine independent stations to chart at #7 on the Roots Music Report for True Country! We'd like to thank all the DJ's for their support. It means a lot to all of us.
Speaking of independent radio.. I did an interview with Iaan Hughes of 'Walking the Floor', Sundays 6-9am, on KBSC 91.3 fm... the first installment of this interview aired on 7/15/12 and can be heard in the archive. I'm not sure when part two will air, but I'm thinking this Sunday at 8am. We pre-recorded the interview live at Seattle's historic honky tonk, The Little Red Hen . We just ordered a bunch of Rainiers and started talking. It was a lot of fun... and that fun came out in the broadcast!
I'm in the talks with other local DJ's to try out other fun and interesting interview/instudio performances.. look for more details on the next blog.
Our next show is at the Tractor Tavern in Ballard on 8/25/12. We will be playing with Lucky Lawrence and the Souvenirs, and The Outlaws (Waylon Jennings Tribute)
